Regarding unceasing prayer, if you want, you can use a simple way because you are uneducated in this matter and cannot enter into the true meaning of the Holy Fathers Hesychasts of “The Philokalia”, so as not to delude yourself. Because some people, unfortunately, instead of setting the goal of discarding the old man (old self), i.e. repentance and humility, and the corporal struggle to be to them only an auxiliary mean for the sanctification of the soul, so that they may feel deeply their sinfulness and realize the great need of God’s mercy and with sweet pain to say ‘Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on me’, they begin with a fruitless corporal struggle, wanting to attain the Divine sweetness and light, and by constantly multiplying the counting of the knots on the prayer ropes (counting their prayers), they “self-sanctify” themselves with their own thought from the mathematical calculations of the prayers.
Certainly, they also make a small tripod chair, measured exactly to the centimetre, and everything else – the bowing of the head, the exhalation, and the inhalation, as described by Sts. Callistos and Gregory in “The Philokalia” – while all these are only auxiliary means – and they think that they are somewhere close to the saints, so they increase counting the knots on the prayer ropes. And when they start believing that they have attained holiness, the “chatterbox” (the enemy) immediately comes, sets up a screen, and then the chatterbox’s prophecies and similar things follow.
Therefore, my brother, seek nothing in prayer but repentance. Not lights, nor miracles, nor prophecies, nor gifts of grace, but only repentance. Repentance will bring you humility. Humility will bring the grace of God.
And in His grace, God will give you everything you need for your salvation. And all that is needed, if there is a necessity to help another soul.

За непрестајната молитва, ако сакаш употреби едноставен начин тогаш кога си неук и не можеш да навлезеш во вистинската смисла на светите Отци исихасти од „Добротољубието“ за да не се опрелестиш. Бидејќи некој за жал, наместо да го постават како цел соблекување на стариот човек т.е. покајанието и смирението, а телесниот подвиг да им биде само помошно средство за осветување на душата, за така да ја почувстуваат длабоко својата грешност и да ја освестат големата потреба од милоста Божја и со слатка болка да велат ‘Господи Исусе Христе помилуј ме’, тиe започнуваат со еден неплоден телесен подвиг, сакајќи да ги достигнат Божествените сладости и светлини, и постојано умножувајќи ги бројаниците, се самоосветуваат со сопствената помисла од математичките пресметки на молитвите.
Секако, правaт и малечко столче троножец, точно во сантимeтри, и се друго – наклонот на главата, издишувањето и вдишувањето, како што опишуваат Св. Калисти и Григории од „Добротољубието“ – додека сето тоа се само помoшни средcтвa – и мислат дека се наоѓаат некаде близу до светителите, та ги зголемуваат бројаниците. И кога ќе поверуваат дека се осветиле, веднаш доаѓа тракатанецот (непријателот), поставува екран и во продолжение следат тракатанечки пророштва и слично.
И затоа брате мој, не барај ништо друго во молитвата, освен покајание. Ниту светлини, ниту чуда, ниту пророштва, ниту благодатни дарови, туку само покајание. Покајанието ќе ти донесе смирение. Смирението – благодат Божја.
И внатре во Својата благодат, Бог ќе ти даде сѐ што ти е потребно за твое спасение. И сѐ што е потребно, ако треба да ѝ помогнеш на некоја друга душа.
